A firefox extension
Graffiti
Deface the internet

Click here to install (Last update: version 1.0 beta 3, Sept 20 2:06 PM)

If this link does not work, click here.

Note: Though I hope to eventually fix this, Graffiti is not compatible with Firefox 1.5.

This is an extension for Mozilla Firefox that lets you leave comments-- in the form of little yellow "sticky notes"-- on web pages. Anyone else who is using the same extension will see them.

Graffiti is still beta software and you may experience some problems while using it. In particular, Graffiti is not compatible with Firefox 1.5 beta or certain other extensions.

Here's what using Graffiti looks like:

Pay close attention to the "Kill All" button, because sometimes this gets kind of obnoxious.
<---

The server which stores the stickies is available, and if you want you can experiment with setting up a sticky server yourself by downloading this (Version 1.0 beta, last update sept 6 7:16 PM. This part is unfortunately not quite done and you may not be able to do much useful with it yet unless you know mysql.). Setting up your own sticky server allows you to make private annotations visible only to yourself, your friends, or members of your organization or business. It also allows you to escape the default server, which frankly is a disaster.

Graffiti is essentially a modern implementation of an old program called Third Voice. And before you ask, yeah, this is legal.

If the link above does not work-- say, if the file just downloads to your computer--

If the extension installs but does not work, please email me and let me know. Please be sure to include in your email a list of any other extensions you are using, and if possible a list of any errors which appear in firefox's "javascript console".

I hope that this amuses you and does not delete your computer. Think of it as an adventure.
